On 16 May 2008, The Financial Times and StarMine jointly announced the list of winners of “2007 FT/StarMine Analyst Awards for Asia”. Five analysts of BOCI Research Limited (“BOCI”) were on the list. BOCI as a whole ranked No. 5, as the “Top 10 Most Award-Winning Brokers of 2007”(See Table), achieving research excellence through the strong professional teams.
The following analysts at BOCI were the winners of the FT/StarMine Analyst Award: Le, Yukun, ranked no. 1 of stock picker in the Metals & Mining Industry. Ng, Allan, ranked no. 1 of stock picker in the Telecommunications Industry. Ni, Xiaoman ranked No. 3 of stock picker in the Energy & Chemical Industry. Hu, Eric ranked no. 2 of earning estimator in the Automobiles Industry. And Chan, Belle ranked no. 2 of earning estimator in the Metals & Mining Industry.
StarMine, which owned by Thomson Reuters, is professional in assessing the performance of research analysts. The award for Asia 2007 covered countries like China, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc.
StarMine evaluates the performance of analysts depending on their recommendation performance and estimate accuracy. In the past, many analysts of BOCI had already won the StarMine Awards.
