On the afternoon of 12 May 2008, a large 8.0 magnitude earthquake has taken place in Wenchuan in Sichuan Province. Tens of thousands of compatriots killed, and homes were destroyed. BOCI immediately kicked off the fund-raising campaign for disaster relief. BOCI Group’s total contributions to the Sichuan disaster areas have exceeded 8.8 million Hong Kong dollars.
